This is a significant issue for Eric Ten Hag; why now? As soon as Bruno Fernandes heard the devastating news about Eric Ten Hag this morning, he burst into tears.

Manchester United ‘hijack Liverpool interest’ in Andre with January bid for new Casemiro prepared.
Erik ten Hag urges four Manchester United stars to’step up’ following a disturbing admission.
The Red Devils’ midweek setback at FC Copenhagen was their ninth in 17 games this season, putting them on the verge of being eliminated from the Champions League group stage.
A fourth-round defeat in the Carabao Cup, mediocre Premier League results, and the shocking loss of Ten Hag’s fearsome home record have all contributed to the Dutchman’s mounting pressure.
However, Mills believes Ten Hag requires more time to fully fulfil his vision at Old Trafford, believing that his often-criticised rigid methodology is required to get United back on track.
“I believe I would keep Erik ten Hag in the position. He is a coach who wants to help players progress, which can take time,” Mills told Express Sport in conjunction with Grosvenor Sport.
“Some people dislike his authoritarian approach, but you need it, you know.
“You must be disciplined, have a strong work ethic, and have discipline. Implementing that takes time.”

Ten Hag is United’s fifth permanent manager since Sir Alex left. David Moyes is the only one to have received less than two seasons.
However, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – who is the only boss to secure back-to-back top-three finishes since Sir Alex but failed to win trophies – struggled to build on early success.
Mills feels Ten Hag is continuing that concerning pattern, but believes he may achieve long-term success with the proper people around him.
He said, “He had a very, very excellent season last year. It hasn’t gone so well this season, but can you name a manager who has had two successful seasons in a row since Alex Ferguson’s departure? “No” is the answer.
“No one has progressed from season to season, you know. Can you recommend a manager who has had two successful consecutive seasons?
Manchester United and Arsenal left red-faced for snubbing Isco after a spectacular assist.
“You’ve had some outstanding managers, such as Louis van Gaal, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jose Mourinho, Ralf Rangnick, David Moyes, but none of them have been able to pull together back-to-back seasons.
So this isn’t just a Ten Hag problem; it’s a deeper issue, and if you want to solve it, you have to make adjustments. I still believe it is a project for Erik ten Hag.
“I know Manchester United fans will be unhappy. So far, he hasn’t nailed it, but he has Steve McLaren to help.
“He’s an excellent coach. He has wonderful people around him. And I believe if he is given time, they will improve.
