SHOCKING NEWS: Coming From Fabrizio Romano, After Failing To Reach An Agreement With Napoli For The Signing Of Victor Osimhen, Chelsea Are Now Reportedly Looking To Sign Another Prolific Nigerian Striker. The Blues Are Said To Be Interested In Victor Boniface, Who Is Currently Playing For Bayer Leverkusen In The German League. The 23-Year-Old Has Scored 20 Goals In 28 Appearances For The Club, And Is Said To Be Attracting Interest From A Number Of European Clubs. Chelsea Set Sights On New ‘Nigerian Striker Target’ After Osimhen Talks Collapse – New Transfer Race On.

Chelsea is actively in search of a striker, recognizing that Nicolas Jackson’s performance might have been exaggerated, with the Senegalese player yet to leave a significant mark at Stamford Bridge. Consequently, the club is once again delving into the transfer market, aiming to invest in a top-tier number nine. While Victor Osimhen stands out as their primary target for this role, stiff competition from PSG exists, who see the Nigerian as Kylian Mbappe’s heir apparent, potentially destined for Real Madrid.

Amidst this pursuit, Ivan Toney emerges as another prospective option, although securing him won’t be simple, given Arsenal and Manchester United’s interest in the Brentford striker. This scenario prompts Chelsea to expand their search, considering other options such as Victor Boniface, a possibility highlighted by BILD and affirmed by Christian Falk, the outlet’s chief transfer expert.

Falk, speaking to CaughtOffside, noted, “Nicolas Jackson’s failure to address Chelsea’s striker dilemma opens the door for someone else in the future: Victor Boniface, who joined from Saint-Gilloise in 2023 for €16 million… Contracted until 2028. Currently valued at €40 million. Chelsea’s interest is evident, although Bayer Leverkusen is hesitant to part ways.”

Osimhen’s Nigerian compatriot showcased impressive form, tallying 16 goals and eight assists in 23 appearances before sustaining an adductor injury, sidelining him for several months. At 23, when fit, he’s considered one of Europe’s most promising forwards, yet concerns persist regarding his injury record, having already faced two ACL injuries in his relatively young career.
