Manchester City Player had just left Ethihad Stadium this afternoon to join West Ham after rejecting a move to Juventus
Sky Sports News says West Ham are in talks to sign £45m Man City player
West Ham United are reportedly in talks to sign Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The Englishman has been linked with a move away from the Manchester club in recent weeks due to his lack of game time in Pep Guardiola’s side.
Having been linked to clubs such as Newcastle United and Juventus, another club has now made an effort to land the midfielder’s signature.
West Ham in talks to sign Phillips
According to Sky Sports News, talks between the two clubs are currently centred around the conditions of a potential deal for Phillips.
Back in the 2022 January transfer window, West Ham reportedly made a £55m bid to sign Phillips from Leeds United but were ultimately unsuccessful in their attempt to add the player to their squad.

This makes it easy to see why the Hammers are interested in landing a deal for him this time around.
Since arriving at City in the 2022 summer window for £45m, the England international has gone on to make 31 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions but only started six of them.
With Guardiola saying back in December that he struggles to visualise Phillips in his ideal City team, it’s understandable why a potential January exit could be on the cards for the 27-year-old.
While the player is looking to get regular game time and City are reportedly aiming to pick up a £7m loan fee, West Ham will have to make sure they agree to these terms and stick to them if they do end up landing a deal for Phillips.
Looking ahead to the remainder of the January transfer window, the best-case scenario for all parties would be if a club can strike a suitable deal with City to take Phillips off their hands this month and give him the minutes he’s after so his place in the England squad for the Euros doesn’t get taken away.
