Manchester City has just loaned out Thier £45million Star player who has more assist than Phil Foden last season
Manchester City has had numerous players leave the club during the current summer transfer window.
Sergio Gomez, Liam Delap, and Taylor Harwood-Bellis have all left the Blues on permanent contracts to join other clubs.
In recent transfer windows, City has also demonstrated that they are open to loaning out specific players to other teams on a temporary basis.
While loaning out young players like James McAtee and Josh Wilson-Esbrand to offer them regular playing time elsewhere, the Blues have also sent out more experienced players like Joao Cancelo.
With that in mind, some behind-the-scenes information has emerged about another player currently in Pep Guardiola’s team who may be packing his bags before the window shuts.
Man City are expected to loan away Kalvin Phillips this summer.
This is what a recent story from The Athletic said about the situation.
It stated, “Kalvin Phillips has attention from Premier League clubs, although a loan is most likely.”
The 28-year-old is now practicing with City’s preseason team in America and might play in the club’s forthcoming friendlies against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea.
Phillips must get his career back on track.
In the 2022 summer transfer window, City spent £45 million (via Sky Sports) to sign Phillips from Leeds United.
After barely starting a few games in his first season and a half at the Etihad Stadium, the Englishman was loaned out by West Ham United in the previous January transfer window.
Hammers striker Michail Antonio stated in April that Phillips was dealing with a lack of confidence after starting only three of his eight Premier League games for the East London side.
Moving forward, if the midfielder is unlikely to get much action at City next season, the best option for him would be to join another club where he can play regularly and get his career back on track.
From City’s perspective, they must consider whether it is preferable to loan him out again or find a team prepared to pay a reasonable sum to sign him.
