Pep Guardiola broke down in tears after Key Manchester City player who was supposed to be sold this January had a career ending injury yesterday

  1. Joao Cancelo hurt his knee after being tackled by Maximo Perrone, who is also on loan from Manchester City.

On their website, Barcelona said that the 29-year-old had hurt the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

How did things go between Maximo Perrone and Joao Cancelo? Let’s look…

Maximo Perrone hurt Joao Cancelo.

Well, the two loanees from Manchester City played each other when Barcelona played Las Palmas in La Liga.

Ferran Torres and Ilkay Gundogan scored goals to help Xavi’s team win 2-1 at the Estadio Gran Canaria. The game had a strong Manchester City theme.

Unfortunately, Cancelo only played for 11 minutes before he had to leave the pitch because of a “very hard clash” with Perrone, as reported by the Spanish news site SPORT.

When Barcelona announced the injury on their website, they did not say when the Manchester City loanee would be back.

But it doesn’t sound good at all.

The injury to Joao Cancelo could affect Manchester City’s sale.

Before the back from Barreiro got hurt, a permanent move to Barcelona looked like it was almost certain.

Cancelo has done very well in Spain, where he has played 22 times for Xavi and scored three goals and set up two others.

A report from the same SPORT said that Barcelona had already agreed to sign the Portugal international on a permanent basis, even though Manchester City’s €30m (£26m) price tag caused some concern.

It was even said that Alejandro Balde, the third-best player for Barcelona, could be used in a swap deal.

But if Cancelo’s injury is serious and keeps him out for the rest of the 2023–24 season, Barcelona will probably not want to spend their limited funds on him, especially since he turns 30 in May.

We hope that Cancelo’s knee problem isn’t too bad and that he can get back to playing soon. Stay t

uned for more information.
