“He was the cause of Manchester United loose yesterday against 12 placed Crystal Palace, he couldn’t even scored an open net and has less touches than the goal keeper, Erig Ten hag needs to get rid of him

When both players are available for selection, Jamie Carragher has questioned how Manchester United would start Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount together.

On Monday night, Fernandes missed his first-ever Reds game due to injury, but Mount led United in their humiliating 4-0 loss at Crystal Palace.

It would be interesting to watch how Erik ten Hag arranges his midfield upon their return, as he has not been able to start either player thus far. Both players were part of the same starting lineup at the beginning of the season, although Carragher has expressed doubts about the wisdom of such strategy.

Mason Mount is the type of player you play in a 4-3-3 because he can press and work backwards, even if he isn’t a winger or particularly quick. This allows you to score.

“However, Bruno is a number 10, not a player for a 4-3-3,” Carragher went on. “I don’t believe he has the self-control to play… Mount can assist because he plays a position 10. You do not have two players that are charging forward since Bruno is not participating.

“As we have previously noted, United occasionally leaves holes in their center midfield, presumably at the manager’s order. This is true regardless of the players in that position.

Bruno, however, must to play if Mount is to advance; he is their greatest player. When the next season begins, I’m still not entirely sure if both players will be on the same squad.”

Ten Hag might not have to deal with this issue for very long because Fernandes recently expressed uncertainty about his future in an interview. In response to the midfielder’s remarks, United’s manager has now stated that he thinks the team captain will stay at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman remarked, “I know he is Manchester United, and I think he is really glad to be here.”
