Fans make same point about Cole Palmer after Raheem Sterling misses penalty against Leicester.

Numerous Chelsea fans on social media argue that Raheem Sterling should have allowed Cole Palmer to take the first-half penalty against Leicester City in their FA Cup match.

During Sunday’s quarterfinal, Abdul Fatawu fouled Sterling in the box, setting up what seemed like a chance for Mauricio Pochettino’s side to extend their lead.

Despite Sterling’s struggles in the first half, he took the penalty, surprising many fans who believed Palmer, with his recent successful penalties, should have been chosen instead.

Sterling’s poor attempt only fueled fans’ criticism, with some questioning Chelsea’s decision-making and leadership, especially given Palmer’s proficiency from the spot.

Pochettino previously stated that Chelsea doesn’t have a designated penalty taker, allowing players to decide on the pitch, highlighting the importance of decision-making and personality.
