Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has praised Reece James, calling the Chelsea player the ‘greatest right-back in the world’.

Despite dealing with recurring injuries, James has established himself as one of the top Premier League defenders since making his first-team debut with Chelsea in September 2019.

James has also began to play frequently for England prior to his recent knee setback, earning 16 appearances for the Three Lions and competing in Euro 2020.

The 24-year-old was a surprise exclusion from Gareth Southgate’s 33-man preliminary England team for the Euros this summer, despite only starting five Premier League games this season.

Even though James will not play for Germany this summer, Walker believes the Chelsea captain is the best ‘complete’ right-back in the world.

When asked to pick the best right-back in the world, he said on the You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker podcast: “Reece James.”
