Ballon d’Or winner and Liverpool legend provided to Chelsea after Manchester United turned down a tremendous opportunity

Chelsea Football Club is currently dealing with a significant problem: a lack of goals. This has led the club to explore various options to enhance their attacking capabilities. Among the potential recruits are Roberto Firmino from Liverpool and Karim Benzema, the recent Ballon d’Or winner. Both players have reportedly been offered to Chelsea, although Manchester United has chosen not to pursue either.

Throughout the season, Chelsea has struggled with consistent goal-scoring. Despite the promising addition of Christopher Nkunku, his injuries have prevented him from making a significant impact. Nicolas Jackson, a €35 million signing from Villarreal, has scored seven league goals but has shown inconsistency in finishing and decision-making. Armando Broja, leading the frontline, has scored only two goals in 17 appearances, highlighting the need for a more prolific striker.

In response to these issues, Chelsea is actively seeking a new striker. There is growing speculation linking them to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. However, financial constraints may delay any potential deal until the summer transfer window unless funds are raised through player sales.

Discussions are ongoing regarding the potential sales of Levi Colwill and Conor Gallagher. Colwill has garnered interest from Liverpool, while Tottenham is interested in Gallagher. Both players are crucial to Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, suggesting that loan deals could be a viable option for the rest of the season. Chelsea insider Nathan Gissing has suggested that Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran is being considered as a potential loan option.

Despite these ongoing discussions, HITC reports that Chelsea has been offered higher-profile players such as Firmino, Benzema, and Aleksandar Mitrovic. Firmino, looking to return to European football after a stint with Al-Ahli, has struggled to regain his form. Benzema, recently awarded the Ballon d’Or, has faced challenges at Al-Ittihad. Mitrovic, playing for Al-Hilal, is also reportedly on Chelsea’s radar. However, these offers have come through intermediaries rather than directly from the clubs.

The report also indicates that Manchester United has decided not to sign Benzema during this transfer window, despite their own need for an experienced striker. The speculation concludes that extraordinary circumstances, such as contract terminations by current clubs, would likely be necessary for players like Mitrovic, Firmino, or Benzema to join Chelsea soon.

In essence, Chelsea’s search for a solution to their goal-scoring issue involves complex negotiations, financial considerations, and balancing player acquisitions and sales. As the transfer window progresses, the club remains vigilant in its quest to find the right striker who can significantly impact the team’s performance and help achieve their domestic and European ambitions.
