Arsenal Gunners News

‘I believe my season at Arsenal is now over, and I would want to thank the supporters for their support thus far. I believe it is time for me to move on to a club where I can win trophies. Arsenal midfielder set to leave this summer despite great performance. Not Ødegaard, Thomas Partey, or Elneny

Mikel Arteta is anticipated to be heavily involved in revamping his Arsenal squad this upcoming summer, with several players poised to join and depart. The January transfer window saw minimal activity for Arsenal, a trend mirrored across the Premier League, potentially leaving Arteta with significant funds to allocate in the offseason.

Despite Arsenal’s recent improvement in front of goal, securing a new striker remains a top priority. While Leandro Trossard has impressed in the false nine role, there’s room for enhancement beyond Eddie Nketiah for long-term success.

Alongside bolstering the attacking options, Arteta is likely keen on reinforcing the midfield. Despite the likelihood of Declan Rice and Jorginho staying put, opportunities may arise elsewhere for Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny. Furthermore, speculation suggests that Albert Sambi Lokonga could depart permanently, as journalist Charles Watts suggests.

Watts, speaking on YouTube, expressed doubt regarding Lokonga’s return to Arsenal’s first team next season. Despite Lokonga’s commendable loan spell at Luton Town, Watts perceives a slim chance of him featuring prominently for Arsenal. He pointed out that Arteta and his team seem to have moved past Lokonga, hinting at forthcoming changes in the midfield setup.

Watts emphasized, “This is an example of a loan spell that is now operating properly.” He further elaborated, indicating that while there’s speculation about Lokonga’s potential return, it seems improbable. Instead, Arsenal is more inclined to seek financial reimbursement for Lokonga’s departure during the summer transfer window.
