VERY SAD NEWS has been announced for Marcus Rashford this morning -Rashford was left out of United’s FA Cup trip to Newport after recent controversy over a nightclub visit in Belfast. Man United have now publicly commented on the matter

A statement on Marcus Rashford has been made by Manchester United in response to media claims.

Following reports of sightings of Rashford at Belfast nightclubs on Wednesday and Thursday night, the player missed training on Friday owing to illness.

The 26-year-old allegedly visited Thompsons Garage nightclub the day after going to Lavery’s Bar on Wednesday night, according to a story from The Athletic.

Before Sunday’s match against League Two side Newport, Erik ten Hag stated, “He reported ill,” but he would not elaborate. Let’s assume that it is an internal issue that I will handle. That is an internal issue.”

According to The Athletic, Rashford and his agent Dwaine Maynard met at Carrington on Monday morning to talk about the events that occurred in Northern Ireland last week with football director John Murtough and Erik ten Hag.

In a statement on Rashford’s condition, Manchester United also confirmed on Monday night that he has resumed training and will be ready for selection against Wolves on Thursday.

The statement said, “Marcus has accepted responsibility for his actions.” “This is now closed as an internal disciplinary matter that has been handled.”

Rashford will be fined £650,000, or two weeks’ pay, as reported by The Sun.

Many people have voiced their opinions over Rashford’s absence. Alan Shearer, a former striker for Newcastle United, advised the teenager to not waste his skill.

After Erik ten Hag’s pre-game interview on Sunday, he spoke with BBC Sport and stated: “If it’s an internal matter, you’d think something is up.”

Marcus Rashford has a great deal of talent. He received penalties last season for arriving late to a pre-game meeting, but there is obviously a problem—either at home or in his relationship with the football team.

“It’s not acceptable for him to keep wasting his gift like way, therefore he must stop. He requires strong leadership, someone to confront him and warn him that if he keeps going in this direction, he will have many regrets at the end of his career.

“You must immediately figure it out; you cannot continue doing this. Four goals this season, thirty goals the previous. He seems to be carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders when he plays, and it needs to be sorted out right away because he isn’t able to handle it.”
