Arsenal Gunners News

The second January signing has been Confirmed ✅: Arsenal finalized the purchase of a £65 million world-class superstar, with a club agreement reached last night for a four-year deal and an announcement this morning.

Arsenal is actively engaged in contract extension discussions with key players Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White, with an impending deal expected to materialize soon. According to Fabrizio Romano of GIVEMESPORT, the Gunners have prioritized securing the future of essential squad members, and Tomiyasu and White are poised to follow suit. While Tomiyasu’s contract concludes in the summer of 2025 and White’s the following season, both players are likely to receive extensions due to their commendable performances for the North London club.

This proactive approach towards contract extensions aligns with Arsenal’s recent trend, as they have successfully secured new deals for prominent players such as William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli, and Bukayo Saka in the past year. The emphasis on securing key figures continues, and Tomiyasu, a significant contributor since his £22 million arrival from Bologna in 2021, is reportedly making promising strides in contract negotiations, as disclosed by Sky Sports writer Dharmesh Sheth.

Although Tomiyasu has not consistently held a starting role, the 25-year-old has proven to be a valuable member of Mikel Arteta’s squad, accumulating 73 appearances across all competitions since joining three years ago. With his current deal set to expire in 18 months, expeditiously finalizing the extension becomes crucial for Arsenal’s long-term plans. Despite the ample time available for renewal discussions, the Gunners are keen to secure Tomiyasu’s commitment promptly, given his evident importance to Arteta’s team.

Ben White, another pivotal component of Arsenal’s defense, is also in focus for contract negotiations. His contentment with the terms at the Emirates Stadium is vital, especially considering his significant role in the Gunners’ backline this season, featuring in nearly every Premier League game. Fabrizio Romano emphasized the close progress of the negotiations, highlighting Arsenal’s eagerness to secure these crucial renewals as part of their ongoing efforts to fortify the squad.
