Real Madrid Legend Toni Kroos is set to come out of retirement to join Manchester City after Manchester City Loosing Crisis and Rodri Injury.
The German star retired earlier this year, ending a dazzling, trophy-laden career. Only a few months after leaving Madrid, the 34-year-old has expressed a desire to return to Los Blancos in any manner, confessing that his relationship with the club is “simply too tight”.
WHAT TONI KROOS SAID:
On his Einfach mal luppen podcast, he stated, “Real Madrid will always be important to me. It was a lengthy, exciting, successful, and beloved stage. That will not change; I will always feel linked to Real Madrid. And I will always protect and support Real Madrid. This will not alter; the bond is simply too intimate.
“Putting myself openly in the real world is not a concern for me right now. For the time being, I would say no, regardless of how close I am to the club. But I am not saying I would never work with Real or be involved with the club again in my life; I would not rule it out. That will be determined by the job; perhaps I will know more once a few years have gone since the end of my career, whether I can envisage something or not, and whether the club can as well. But I do not rule out the possibility of returning to Real in some capacity.”
Kroos won almost everything a football player could win throughout his long career. He played for Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Madrid, earning several titles along the way, and won the 2014 World Cup with his country. After what he did in Madrid, he is sure to be welcomed back with open arms.
