Premier league Star have decided to Sign for Manchester City in the summer in shocking move
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City target Lucas Paqueta’s West Ham United contract has an £85 million release clause.
City has been after Paqueta since last year, and the Brazilian would be an excellent addition to their team. Paqueta has been a significant player for the Hammers, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in 37 games across all competitions.
Paqueta has been an integral part of David Moyes’ West Ham team since signing in 2022. His play has piqued the curiosity of many big European teams, and the 26-year-old has also established himself as a Brazilian regular. He has played 44 games for the Selecao, scoring ten goals and assisting four times.
Manchester City signed Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes last summer, but they were also interested in Paqueta. City may opt to go all out for him this summer, paying up his release clause. Paqueta’s contract at West Ham runs until the conclusion of the 2026-27 season.
Following Manchester City’s 3-3 UEFA Champions League tie against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 9, Rodri said that he was exhausted and could need some rest.
Guardiola intimated that he is open to resting Rodri for City’s Premier League home game against Luton Town on April 13. He said (on Man City’s website):
“If a player does not want to play, he will not play. It is that simple. “Another player will play.”
Guardiola added:
“Look at our games and you’ll see, it’s clear, Rodri is so vital for the quality he provides us.”
Guardiola also said that, apart from Rodri, he would prefer to rest his center defenders, which has not been feasible owing to the international break. Rodri, like usual, has been an important player for City, recording 41 appearances in all competitions this season. He’s scored eight goals and supplied 12 assists.
