Due to their violation of financial fair play standards, the Merseyside club was hit with the worst punishment in the Premier League. As a result of the deduction, the Toffees now sit 19th in the league with just four points.
Everton will file an appeal, but Chelsea and Manchester City will be concerned by the decision in light of their ongoing financial inquiries.

Because of their more significant infractions, Chelsea and Manchester City will be alarmed by this, and as Borson notes, it could result in the two English powerhouses being demoted.
