Premier league Club are having to consider the possibility of trying to find a short-term loan option for striker from Saudi Arabia in the form of Roberto Firmino
In a similar vein, Benzema left Real Madrid in the summer of last year and is already expected to leave Al-Ittihad. According to reports this week, he was not included in the tour at all because he did not show up for a presentation that was scheduled before to the club’s pre-season training camp.
Chelsea may attempt to acquire one of the players in the upcoming weeks since they are both rumoured to be looking to move elsewhere. However, The Telegraph’s source also states that Armando Broja would probably be leaving, either permanently or on loan, if either player—or any other striker, for that matter—arrives this winter.
Chelsea’s forwards have had difficulty scoring.
The injuries Christopher Nkunku has aren’t helping
The Blues have been playing well lately, and with their victory over Fulham last weekend, they became the first team to win three straight Premier League games since October 2022. But those victories were all decided by a single goal, underscoring the necessity for greater offensive firepower.
With nine goals this season, attacking midfielder Cole Palmer leads the team in scoring. Nicolas Jackson has scored seven goals, but there are many questions about whether he can still score goals when opportunities present themselves at this point in his career. Only three goals have been scored by the team’s other two central offensive alternatives, Broja and Christopher Nkunku, the latter of whom has struggled with injury since joining Stamford Bridge.
With 603 goals between them in their trophy-filled careers, Benzema and Firmino may be beyond their best, but they might still provide West London with much-needed experience and firepower in the second half of the season. Mauricio Pochettino’s desire for new players is still unknown, though, as the Chelsea manager stated during his final press conference before leaving for a three-day vacation in Spain:
“I must be reachable around-the-clock in case the sporting director or the owners need to get in touch with me. I am aware that in football, anything can happen at any time.
“To be honest, I would prefer it if the phone did not ring. It is much better for me if it doesn’t ring.
