Pep Guardiola has announced VERY SAD NEWS for Phil Foden after he was absence from the Manchester City Vs Ipswich Town premier League Match

Phil Foden was a surprise absence from Manchester City’s Premier League match against Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The Tractor Boys traveled to the Etihad Stadium for the first time in their history for the 3pm kickoff, with ex-City players Arijanet Muric and Liam Delap in the visiting lineup.

But fellow academy product Foden was not among the 40 players chosen to the two matchday teams, with the City star missing out due to sickness. The 24-year-old came in as a substitute in the second half against Chelsea last week, but he and Nico O’Reilly were both withdrawn from the team this week.

In their stead, the returning Ilkay Gundogan was picked as a substitute, along with Issa Kabore, who was also in the Community Shield matchday squad.
Pep Guardiola named the identical starting lineup against Ipswich as he did six days ago at Stamford Bridge. Ederson was in goal, leading a back four of Rico Lewis, Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias, and Josko Gvardiol. Kyle Walker, John Stones, and Nathan Ake were again named as replacements.
Rodri missed out in midfield due to injury, therefore Mateo Kovacic took his place at the base of the midfield. Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva maintained their positions in the center.
