Arsenal Gunners News

OFFICIAL NOW ✅: Player in London as he prepares to sign a five-year contract with Arsenal, Arsenal’s first signing to be announced today.

Arsenal is reportedly on the verge of a significant £60m bid acceptance from Everton, raising the possibility of a disruptive raid on the latter club during this transfer window. The Gunners are keen on acquiring midfielder Amadou Onana, and Everton might be inclined to sell if the proposed bid materializes.

In an exclusive report on January 4, TEAMtalk disclosed Arsenal’s approach to Everton regarding the potential signing of Amadou Onana. Despite initial expectations of bolstering the center-forward position, Mikel Arteta believes his team is well-balanced, especially with the return of Gabriel Jesus to full training, overcoming a minor knee issue, as reported by The Telegraph.

While the desire for a central midfielder persists, Arteta’s dream target, Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa, is financially out of reach with a £100 million valuation. Villa, on the rise and not willing to sell to a title competitor mid-season, complicates Arsenal’s pursuit of Luiz.

Turning attention to Amadou Onana, the Belgian international is now the focal point, and Everton may entertain the idea of selling this month. The i tabloid suggests that Everton’s £60m valuation for Onana is influenced by the £58m transfer of fellow Belgian Romeo Lavia to Chelsea last summer, even though Lavia is less established and significantly younger by two and a half years.
