Manchester City Star Julian Alvarez has finally responded to the rumours flying around after he was being linked to Chelsea

Chelsea has agreed to a £42 million deal for a striker, as Julian Alvarez responds to potential transfer rumors linking him with a move to the London club.

The 24-year-old forward for Manchester City has had two remarkable seasons at the Etihad, contributing significantly to the team’s successes. Alvarez scored 17 goals in the treble-winning 2022–23 season and tied the club record with 19 goals in the Premier League-winning 2023–24 season. Despite primarily serving as a substitute for Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland last season, Alvarez was one of the seven Manchester City players with the most minutes on the pitch.

Haaland’s incredible record of 90 goals in 98 games for City makes it unlikely for Alvarez to surpass him. However, there are rumors suggesting that Haaland may leave the Etihad in search of more consistent playing time. This has led several clubs to express interest in Alvarez, including Chelsea, which has prioritized signing a new attacker this summer following Nicolas Jackson’s inconsistent performances.

In an interview with ESPN, Alvarez addressed the speculation about his potential move to West London, expressing his contentment with staying at Manchester City. “These are things that are spoken, but I am peaceful, at ease, and pleased at City,” Alvarez stated. “We’ll watch to see what transpires.”

Additionally, Alvarez has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, which is seeking a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who recently transferred to Real Madrid.

### Chelsea Finalizes Terms for Jhon Duran

Colombian media have reported that Chelsea has secured a £42 million agreement for Aston Villa’s striker, Jhon Duran. The club had previously shown interest in Duran during the January transfer window but could not finalize the deal as Aston Villa was unwilling to part with one of its key players mid-season.

According to Colombian journalist Guillermo Arango, Chelsea and Aston Villa have now reached a £42 million transfer agreement, and negotiations over Duran’s personal terms are underway. Duran’s agent, Jonathan Herrera, indicated last month that the striker was unhappy with his limited playing time at Villa. Herrera commented, “He is a player with a contract with Aston Villa; he performed really well and the coach is relying on him. It’s a tremendous opportunity for the club to be in the Champions League, but we know he wants to play; we’ll see.”

As the transfer market remains open, both the club and Duran are exploring their options to ensure the striker’s aspirations and the club’s needs are aligned.
