Usually, their choices to let go of such individuals had no bearing on the performance of the first team.

Furthermore, the young players in issue have been given the chance to play senior football elsewhere and occasionally have gone on to become major stars.

Cole Palmer is the best example; Romeo Lavia got a summertime transfer to Chelsea.

But according to The Sun (09/06/2024, page 55), a kid Manchester City is willing to sell is 21-year-old Liam Delap. City allegedly will sell Delap to a Premier League team under anonymity.

According to the report, City sold the Winchester-born striker mostly to assist them with their continuous problems with the Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Given Delap, a homegrown player labeled as “exceptional” by Guardiola via Manchester Evening News, his probable transfer would qualify as pure profit, according current PSR guidelines.

Man City hopes they will not regret losing Liam Delap.
From a commercial sense, Manchester City could have to sell Liam Delap, but they will be hoping they do not regret his possible transfer.

Delap showed his class in a City shirt in the few times he visited the team; he notably scored in a 2-1 Carabao Cup victory against Bournemouth.

But throughout his loan runs at Stoke City, Preston North End, and Hull City, the former Derby County striker has failed to establish himself.

But Liam Delap may establish his class at a Premier League team with his eye for goal, persistence and muscle.

Given Manchester City’s exceptional talent-spot awareness, maybe they feel internally at ease with selling Delap.
