Man UTD manager Erig Ten Hag broke down in tears after Key Manchester United player who is undropable for Manchester United has been injured in training this afternoon
Mount, who joined the club from Chelsea this summer, has suffered another setback only days after making his first Premier League start since October in a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Mount suffered an injury in training on Thursday, and United manager Ten Hag has revealed that the 25-year-old will not participate in their next encounter.
Though the England international’s niggle is not regarded to be significant, he is likely to be fit to play Brighton in the last game of the season.
Speaking with the club’s in-house media staff, the Dutchman stated: “It’s a tiny matter. So he’s absolutely not done for the season. I believe he will return in a few days.
“Maybe Newcastle [next Wednesday] is too short, but I believe he will be available for Brighton.”
Meanwhile, left-back Luke Shaw has experienced a setback in his rehabilitation from a hamstring issue, but there is still optimism that he will be fit for the FA Cup final on May 25.
But there is some good news for United, as Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, and Marcus Rashford are all in contention to return for the match at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag stated in his pre-match press conference: “Rashy exercised this morning, and we’ll see how he recovers from this.
“But I believe it looks okay, and I hope he can make the next workout tomorrow, and then we’ll see whether he’s ready on Sunday.”
Before adding, “Bruno was on the pitch, and Scott McTominay was on the pitch, so certain players have returned.”
David Beckham exclusively joins talkSPORT Drive at the screening of his film 99 and talks about Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, England, and Jude Bellingham.
Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez begged Ten Hag to play against Arsenal despite the fact that he was still recovering from a calf issue.
The former Ajax boss has claimed that the World Cup champion is still not ready to return to play.
He said, “[Martinez] is yearning to play; he misses so much, and the team misses him.”
“He wants to play, but he had three injuries this season, and now he is almost there, injury-free, at the end of the recovery process, but he must return to team training and matches.
“I will never bet with a player, ever. It’s about them and their future.
“That is the most crucial aspect of their careers, and I must take responsibility for it. The club is the most important, but the player’s safety and health are of top priority.”
