HERE WE GO ✅: Arsenal pushing very hard to complete another big signing today, player’s camp have agreed to join, medical date fixed as Arteta set to announce His second summer signing today

Arsenal is reportedly considering a move for Espanyol star Joan Garcia in the current transfer window, as stated by TEAMtalk.

Due to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, the Gunners have faced financial constraints. Following a quiet winter window, they have not made any major signings this summer. The only significant moves thus far include making David Raya’s loan deal permanent and being close to acquiring young goalkeeper Tommy Setford from Ajax Amsterdam.

Arsenal appears to be prioritizing the sale of players to generate funds, with the intention of making new signings later in the window. Mikel Arteta’s team has already seen departures such as Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares, while Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe are rumored to be potential exits.

Eddie Nketiah is also anticipated to be sold, and Aaron Ramsdale may leave in search of regular first-team football after being sidelined last season.

TEAMtalk reports that Arsenal has identified Joan Garcia as a serious candidate to strengthen their goalkeeping squad before the transfer window closes. The report mentions that Arsenal has been monitoring Garcia’s situation, noting his £21 million release clause.

However, Arsenal faces competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid, who are also interested in Garcia.

Garcia had an impressive season in La Liga 2, contributing to Espanyol’s successful fight to stay in the top-flight. The 23-year-old, standing at 6ft 3in, is adept with the ball at his feet, strong in the air, and an excellent shot-stopper.

Acquiring Garcia could be a wise long-term strategy for Arsenal, although his selection for Spain’s Olympic team might complicate the transfer process.
