The lead at the top of the Premier League table is now only two points, thanks to Manchester City’s win over Brentford tonight.
It was another great year for City in 2024, as they won all five of their games.
Phil Foden scored three goals at the Gtech Community Stadium and was the star of the night.
After City made some bad mistakes in defence, Neal Maupay scored to give the Bees the lead. A goal kick from Mark Flekken found the scorer, who grabbed it and put it past Ederson.
City tied the game just before halftime, though, thanks to Foden. In the second half, City really turned it on.
Alan Smith talks about how great Phil Foden is after the star scores a hat-trick for Manchester City against Brentford.

MORE STORIES ABOUT MAN CITY
Foden scored the second goal early in the second half with a glancing header from a perfect cross by Kevin De Bruyne. He had already scored the opener.
Foden scored his third goal after Erling Haaland set him up with a nice pass. The 24-year-old then finished expertly into the bottom corner.
Foden once again played brilliantly in the middle. He now has 14 goals in all games this season.
Alan Smith, a commentator for Sky Sports, called him Man of the Match. He said of the star, “While many City players have been great, when you score a hat-trick, you really deserve the award.” “Phil Foden is having a great season with a great team.”
Foden shines once more
Foden was once again the star of the show for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola had just said that Foden had become more of a game-winner for City.
The player was great playing in the middle between the lines, and he kept doing well even when Kevin De Bruyne and Julen Alvarez were playing in the same areas.
As many people thought he would, he is now becoming a very serious player.
It’s great to see Foden getting stronger as well. He only needs one more goal this season to tie his score from last season and two more to beat his 16 goals in 2020/21.
