Gareth Southgate has announced his departure from the England squad this morning to join one of the biggest clubs in world football!

Gareth Southgate is still not bothered by the idea of going back to managing clubs when his time as England’s coach is over.
Southgate has not been in charge of a club team in almost 15 years. He was fired by Middlesbrough in 2009 after three seasons at the Riverside Stadium.
Southgate has had a lot of success since then. He was most recently in charge of the England Under-21 team before becoming the head coach of the adult national team in 2016. Southgate has led England to a great improvement in their international play during his time in charge of the Three Lions.
Under his direction, England made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018, which was the first time that had happened since 1990. They also made it to the final of the Euro 2020, which was the first big tournament final for England since 1966.
His current contract is good until the end of 2024, and many people think that Euro 2024 could be his last event as head coach of the Three Lions.
It is expected that Southgate will return to club coaching after his time with England. He said in an interview with Sky Sports that the idea doesn’t scare him, pointing to his many years of experience leading the national team:
“I didn’t know nearly as much as I do now when I was 35 years old and managing in the Premier League and going 12th and 13th.” It’s impossible for you to be scared or worried about being a manager in sports now that you’ve been there.
“I remember having a conversation with Jose [Mourinho] when he was at City.” “When you’re done with your current job, you’ll be ready for anything,” he told me.
“At the time, I thought it might be true, but now, seven years later, I’m sure it’s true.” I’m sure of myself in my present job and in whatever comes next.
“I don’t think I’ll be in this job for 20 or 30 years, but I don’t know what the future holds either.” But I’m not worried about what it might hold, so I’m calm about it.”
