Former Bayern Munich Legend and Star Arjen Robben will start training with Manchester City this week ahead of stunning football return!
Arjen Robben was seen in the Manchester City dressing room after the team’s 5-1 victory over Wolves, providing an encouraging message to the players.
Erling Haaland scored four goals and Julian Alvarez added another to get City within one point of Premier League leaders Arsenal. This was their sixth consecutive top-flight victory, during which they scored an astounding 24 goals, keeping their chances of winning the title for the fourth time.
According to the Daily Mail, numerous football luminaries attended the match. David Silva was among them, as the City icon returned to the Etihad Stadium for the first time since July 2020.
Robben, renowned for sharing amusing tales about Guardiola’s habit of calling him at odd hours to talk business, congratulated City on their victory over Wolves and encouraged them to put the pressure on Arsenal. In addition to Bayern, Robben has played for Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSV, and Groningen.
Arjen Robben, a Dutch football legend, was not only observed at the Etihad Stadium during his visit to the United Kingdom this weekend. Images of the former winger at Anfield, where he watched Liverpool’s 4-2 victory against Tottenham with ex-Bayern Munich colleague Thiago Alcantara, went viral on social media.
Manchester City, in their quest for a fourth straight Premier League title, needs three victories out of three to secure the trophy. Pep Guardiola, reflecting on his team’s victory over Wolves and looking ahead to the championship chase, said: “The most important thing is that we only have two weeks. Three games. With nine points, we will be champions.
“Even if we only get seven, six, or three points, Arsenal will win the Premier League. We are unable to draw since goal difference is impossible. Arsenal have been playing really well and consistently.
“It’s three games; ideally, we’ll win the first two and head into the third with our Premier League destiny in our own hands. You see the 5-1 outcome [today], but I don’t think it was very fantastic.
“We lost a lot of simple balls. With high-pressing teams, we may go with Phil [Foden], Kevin [De Bruyne], and Julian [Alvarez]. I offer a lot of credit to Wolves for their patterns. Hwang [Hee-chan] and [Matheus] Cunha were consistently hazardous.”
