FIFA has just announced VERY SAD NEWS for the Officials and Referees of the match between Manchester City vs Wolves after awarding Man City a Controversial Last minutes Offside goal and this have cost them thier Job
Despite VAR’s request for an on-field review, referee Chris Kavanagh chose not to throw out John Stones’ late winner against Wolves. Stones, who appeared to have saved City deep into injury time again, had headed in before discovering his effort had been rejected.
When Stones returned from a celebration in the stands, he noticed that the goal was under VAR review. VAR official Stuart Atwell indicated Kavanagh went to the pitchside monitor after the goal, which he first disallowed because Bernardo Silva was too close to Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa when the header was met.
When referees go to the screen, it usually signifies that a judgment will be reversed. Kavanagh then scored, setting to loud celebrations on the pitch for City.
The Premier League Match Centre stated their decision on X (previously Twitter). “Stones’ goal was disallowed on the pitch because Bernardo Silva was offside and in the goalkeeper’s line of view.” The VAR determined that Bernardo Silva was not in his line of vision and had no influence on the goalie, and suggested an on-field penalty.”
Silva, already one of the smallest players on the field, was offside but ducked as Stones headed the ball. The midfielder was likewise somewhat to the side of Sa, not directly in front of him.
The goal, Stones’ second for City following his late equalizer against Arsenal last month, returned Pep Guardiola’s team to the top of the Premier League ahead of Liverpool’s encounter with Chelsea. City once again came from behind to win.
Jorgen Strand Larsen gave bottom-placed Wolves an early lead at Molineux, but Josko Gvardiol leveled just before halftime with another remarkable strike. Sa denied City numerous opportunities in goal with superb saves, but Stones blasted in for the game-winner.
