Chelsea Star Cole Palmer was seen at a concert with a drink after the loss against Wolves yesterday
Cole Palmer set a new club record during Chelsea’s 4-2 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
The England international has established himself as a valuable member of the Chelsea squad following his summer transfer from Manchester City.
Palmer has made 19 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, starting 15 of them, including Sunday’s game against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old scored in the 19th minute of the game, giving Mauricio Pochettino’s side the perfect start. This was the player’s third consecutive home goal in all competitions.
Palmer used his weaker right foot to latch onto Moises Caicedo’s inch-perfect pass and slide the ball into the bottom corner.
Palmer’s eleventh league goal of the 2023-24 season not only put his team ahead, but also broke a club record.
The young player created Premier League history by being the first player aged 21 or younger to score ten or more goals in a single season.
Palmer’s early goal had little impact, as Wolves rallied to take all three points in West London.
Palmer’s effort was blocked in the 22nd minute by Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha, and Chelsea trailed at halftime after an own goal by Axel Disasi.
Thiago Silva pulled one back in the dying seconds, but it was too little, too late, as Cunha scored two more goals in the second half to complete his first hat-trick for Wolves.
Chelsea has lost four consecutive league games for the second time under manager Rafael Benítez, including a 4-1 loss at Liverpool prior to Sunday.
They had previously conceded four goals in two consecutive games in November, losing 4-1 to Newcastle United and 4-4 to Manchester City.
Wolves have risen to 10th position in the Premier League, pushing Chelsea to the bottom half of the table.
