Chelsea manager Mouricio Pochettino broke down in tears as Star player who returned back from injury has been ruled for the rest of the season due to Hamstring injury obtained in training
Romeo Lavia has spoken out about his “frustration” over how his first season at Chelsea was ruined by injuries.
The 20-year-old only played for 32 minutes after signing for £53 million in the summer, and he won’t play again this season because he hurt his thigh again.
Chelsea revealed the diagnosis on Wednesday, and Lavia soon after put out a statement on social media.
“As you may know, I will not be able to make it for the rest of the season despite all my efforts,” he wrote.
This season has been hard for me because I haven’t been able to help my peers.
“More than anything else, I love this team, this badge, and being on the pitch.” Believe that I have worked hard every day to get back.
“Thank you for your love, support, and criticism. They all make me better and keep me going.” I can’t wait to give it back and have many more wonderful times with you. I’ll see you soon.
When Lavia moved from Southampton to Arsenal last summer, he wasn’t ready for games because he hurt his ankle.
In his first game back, against Crystal Palace in late December, he only played for 30 minutes before complaining of a thigh injury. He joined a long list of stars who haven’t played for Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea this season.
