Bulls***!’ He needs to be on the bench if Chelsea wants to win trophy this Season- Alan Shearer ‘angry’ with Chelsea FLOP after an Awful performance yesterday against Leicester that almost cost them the FA Cup Semi Final
Ryan Sterling robbed Cole Palmer of a penalty during Chelsea’s tense FA Cup quarterfinal win over Leicester City. Alan Shearer was angry and confused.
Chelsea was already ahead 1-0 after Marc Cucurella scored early in the game. They had a chance to make it 2-0 when Sterling was tripped in the box in the middle of the first half.
Palmer, who has made all of his penalty kicks this season, went to take the kick at first but then gave the ball to Sterling after a short conversation with Sterling.
Sterling’s weak shot was saved by Leicester’s goalie Jakub Stolarczyk. Palmer added a second goal right before halftime, but the Foxes came back very well after the break.
The co-leaders in the Championship got some hope from Axel Dissi’s funny own goal, and Stamford Bridge was shocked by Stephy Mavididi’s curling equaliser.
Even though they were down to ten men with 20 minutes to go, Leicester looked like they would beat Chelsea in extra time. However, late goals from Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke put the home team in the semi-finals.
“What the hell was going on?” The great Shearer of the Premier League said on the show The Rest is Football, “Really, even I was getting mad, and I didn’t really care about the game.”
“What the hell is he doing taking the ball away from Cole Palmer?” Palmer has made five straight penalty kicks. He’s Chelsea’s best player, has been great all season, and seems sure of himself.
“Why would you even think about taking it off of him?” And with a record like that, why would you even bother to run?
An ex-Manchester City defender named Micah Richard said on the show that Sterling was trying to boost his confidence by scoring a penalty kick, but Shearer called him “bulls***.”
“Man, it’s the quarterfinals of the FA Cup!” Give the sentence to the person who deserves it. Forget about all that other stuff.
Martin Keown, a former Arsenal player, also said Sterling was “pulling rank” on Cole Palmer, but Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, didn’t seem to care about the incident.
Jones said, “Cole gave the ball to Raheem. I think they have a very good relationship. It came from when they were both at Manchester City.”

“When Raheem asked for the ball to take the penalty, I think Cole gave it to him. You can see it on TV.” Still, I don’t see a problem with that. Cole and Raheem can miss; I trust their choice.
“Of course, I’ll always back up what my players do on the pitch.” That’s about to get bigger and more grown up. I’m glad we made a choice.
After barely beating Leicester, Chelsea was put in the FA Cup to play Manchester City, who won the Premier League. In the other semi-final match, Manchester United plays Coventry City, who is from the Championship.
