Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez has reportedly identified his preferred transfer destination amidst interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea. The Premier League champions acquired Alvarez for a modest fee of approximately £14 million in early 2022.

During his tenure at Manchester City, Alvarez has demonstrated his prowess on the field by scoring 36 goals and delivering 18 assists in 103 appearances. Despite his impressive contributions, he has frequently been overshadowed by Erling Haaland, who remains Pep Guardiola’s primary choice as striker. This situation has fueled speculation about Alvarez’s potential departure from the Etihad Stadium, with Chelsea purportedly prioritizing him as a transfer target.

In addition to Chelsea, Alvarez has attracted attention from Atletico Madrid and has reportedly been approached by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), who are considering a move for the talented forward. Nevertheless, reports from The Athletic suggest that Alvarez’s preferred destination is Real Madrid, as he is keen to secure more opportunities for first-team football.

The report from The Athletic states, “Julian Alvarez has been linked with moves to Atletico Madrid, PSG, and Chelsea. He has been open to a move for several months, although his first-choice destination — Real Madrid — is not likely to happen this summer. He is thought to want more first-team football.”

In summary, while Julian Alvarez remains a coveted target for several top European clubs, his desire for increased playing time has led him to favor a move to Real Madrid. However, with a transfer to the Spanish giants unlikely in the immediate future, it remains to be seen whether he will consider offers from other interested clubs such as Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, or PSG.
