Arsenal have just been guaranteed a 100% hope of signing world class goal scorer for just £40M- Clubs have met and Arsenal’s bid already ACCEPTED- Player pleaded to fix his MEDICALS after his church service later in the day- He will be Arteta’s only signing this January- Official announcement from Arsenal soon.
Arsenal has reportedly conveyed to Bologna their readiness to invest over €40 million in securing Joshua Zirkzee’s services in the upcoming summer transfer window, as per information from Corriere dello Sport. Zirkzee, in his second season with Serie A’s Bologna, has demonstrated his skills with eight goals and four assists in 22 appearances under manager Thiago Motta.
Impressed by Zirkzee’s performances, the Gunners are gearing up for a potential move at the end of the season. Despite Bayern Munich holding a €40 million buy-back clause for Zirkzee, along with a significant sell-on clause, Bologna holds a strong negotiating position, suggesting they might seek a fee higher than the predetermined value.
Reports indicate that Arsenal is prepared to “guarantee” such a fee, but they could face competition from Manchester United, who also express interest in meeting the demands for the promising Dutchman.
Currently, Arsenal’s striking options consist of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, with Jesus as the undisputed first choice under manager Mikel Arteta. Nketiah, often starting in Jesus’s absence due to injuries, might face increased competition for a starting role. Recent instances, like Leandro Trossard being chosen over Nketiah against Liverpool, hint at the need for reinforcement in the striking department.
In considering a potential new signing, Zirkzee emerges as a candidate. While not yet a complete player, he has made significant strides with Bologna, contributing to 12 goals in 22 games this season. His strengths include effective anchor and link-up play, notable pace, and the ability to dribble past opponents. Additionally, the Dutchman provides an aerial presence, a quality currently lacking in Arsenal’s forward line.
Although fans might initially hope for established names like Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen to complement Jesus, the possibility of Zirkzee as a recruit cannot be ruled out. Managerial preference and Zirkzee’s promising development with Bologna could position him as a viable option for Arsenal in the upcoming transfer window.
