Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, has said that he can’t wait to play again.
The center-forward hasn’t played since December because of an ankle injury. He missed five Premier League games and both of City’s FIFA Club World Cup games.
While the Manchester United team was having a good time at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Haaland took the chance to talk about his injury and how excited he is to get back on the game.
Haaland wants to go back to City so badly
At the Globe Soccer Awards, Haaland was named the best men’s player for 2023. He then said this about City and his ultimate return to play.
He said, “I love being here at Manchester City; it’s a great club.” I really want to get back to playing soon because I’m getting tired of not being able to do it.
MORE STORIES ABOUT MAN CITY
City paid £51 million to get the Norwegian player from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.
After that, Haaland had a pretty good first season with Manchester United. He scored 52 goals in 53 games and helped the team win the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League.
The striker has since scored 19 goals in 22 games this season, so it’s easy to see why he’s so eager to get back to full health and help his team keep trying to win back the titles they won last year.
Last weekend, Pep Guardiola said that the Norwegian player’s healing had been slowed down a bit. He expects the player to be fully fit by the end of the month.
The goals Haaland has scored since joining Manchester City have been very important, so it’s safe to say that his comeback will greatly improve Guardiola’s team’s chances of winning more titles.
