Chelsea Star Player Thiago Silva has announced the Club he will be joining after his departure from Stamford Bridge this morning
‘Egos’ in the changing room are the target of Thiago Silva’s vicious farewell rant at his Chelsea teammates.
With his contract expiring next month, 39-year-old Silva will leave Stamford Bridge after four erratic seasons with the Blues. A Champions League champion in his first season, the Brazilian defender’s third and fourth seasons in particular have seen Chelsea regress from the Premier League’s top.
Silva, who saw the fall of former manager Graham Potter last season and the difficulties of Mauricio Pochettino this season, has advised Chelsea supporters to put their egos aside for the benefit of the team.
“These lads have to know that Chelsea needs to battle for the top spots,” the 39-year-old said to Sky Sports. It should work, I believe, if we put a bit of our ego to work for the team. Sadly, nothing much will change if we don’t do it.”
Silva said, “I understands what it means to wear a Chelsea shirt, you know,” having already committed to return to his previous club Fluminense when the Brazilian transfer market opens on July 10. And if I may convey anything to the lads present today, it is that they should realize that what they went through to come to Chelsea had to be worthwhile.
For our current season is unworthy of Chelsea. It isn’t. Moreover, I believe they need to put in more effort the next year. The supporters never abandoned the team, if you look at the games. You remember that we were in eighth place, ninth? And the supporters never left.
“They booed us off a little at the conclusion of the game, but they’re always there in the stands, usually with 40,000, 45,000. We know it occurs in our nation; if we were anywhere else, they may hurl rocks at us.”
