“The behaved so selfish knowing that Cole Palmer is the Penalty taker and the went to take the ball away from him- Dele Alli slams two Chelsea stars for selfish display against Everton

Dele Alli labelled Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke as’selfish’ during an on-field altercation during Chelsea’s overwhelming victory against Everton.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team thrashed Everton at Stamford Bridge on Monday night, with Cole Palmer scoring four goals and a beautiful hat-trick in another outstanding effort.
Jackson and Blues academy graduate Alfie Gilchrist both scored as Chelsea’s excellent run of form continued, but Everton departed to Goodison Park empty-handed and demoralised.
However, Chelsea’s stunning 6-0 victory was marred by a weird dispute between teammates Jackson and Madueke after the hosts were given a penalty in the second half.
The duo battled over who should take the penalty kick, and both refused to back down, even after Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher seized the ball and passed it to Palmer, the chosen penalty taker.
Palmer converted his spot-kick past Jordan Pickford, becoming the Premier League’s joint-top goalscorer, but Jackson refused to celebrate.
Everton midfielder Dele, who has not played this season owing to personal and physical concerns, criticized Jackson and Madueke, saying they “showed their age.”
‘I believe Pochettino will be very dissatisfied,’ he stated on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football. ‘The great thing about him is that he cares about the players as individuals, and for them to do so is selfish.
‘They want to get on the scoreboard; it’s OK for players to want to score, but they should do it during the game. If you are not the taker, just walk away from the ball.
‘I didn’t see them do that in the last minute against Manchester United, when the pressure was on.
‘Mauricio is clearly unhappy about it. They’re young players, so they’ll learn from this.
The ex-England player continued, “For me, this is them revealing their age.” I did not see them battling to take the high-pressure penalty against United.
Pochettino stated to Sky Sports after the game that he was livid after seeing two of his players quarrel on the field.
However, he was happy with Chelsea’s ‘perfect’ performance, which featured a 29-minute first-half hat-trick from summer signing Palmer.
‘We had some nice games, but today I am pleased with our performance, and we began the game very well,’ Pochettino remarked.
‘We had a different approach against Sheffield United, and we discussed throughout the week how we improved in many areas – tonight was the right game.’
On Palmer’s performance, the Blues manager added: ‘I have to be honest; when we signed him, he was a tremendous talent.
‘He is doing very well and has acclimated himself. The influence on the squad was incredible from the start. I’m really delighted for him and the team.
Chelsea gained momentum on their European qualifying opponents by smashing Everton, but Sean Dyche’s team had a torturous evening, remaining 16th in the Premier League, only two points above the relegation zone.
