Unexpected News has been announced for Chelsea this Evening as Todd Boehly has instructed Pochettino to Sell THREE FLOP players before June 30 to avoid £110m FFP punishment

Chelsea must produce more than £100 million in player sales to avoid a Financial Fair Play (FFP) penalty from the Premier League, according to a former Manchester City financial advisor.

Everton and Nottingham Forest have both received a points deduction this season after being accused with violating the Premier League’s FFP standards, which allow teams to lose a maximum of £105 million over three years, or £35 million per season.

Chelsea, meantime, has spent more than £1 billion on new acquisitions since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital bought the club from Roman Abramovich in May 2022.

And football finance specialist Stefan Borson feels Chelsea could face a worse sanction from the Premier League than Everton and Forest.

‘Perhaps more severe,’ Borson told talkSPORT.

‘I believe the scale of the losses they are currently projecting is far more than that of both Everton and Nottingham Forest.’

Borson now feels Chelsea will need to sell several first-team players before the FFP deadline of June 30.

‘There was an expectation with Mason Mount, because he was announced on Manchester United’s website on July 1 that [his sale] had been incorporated into this season,’ Borson added.

‘So the £55 million profit was made this season. It now appears that Mason Mount was transacted in 2022/23, which is how they got through.

When it was stated that Chelsea currently has a £55 million hole this season, Borson responded: “Correct.”

‘Because we also know from the BlueCo reports that they are currently profitable, based on post-balance-sheet occurrences, of around £48 million this year.

‘But, of course, this year will be far worse than last year in terms of operations because there will be no Champions League or Europe.’

When asked how Chelsea will deal financially without European football, Borson responded: ‘They really need to find buyers for Trevoh Chalobah for £20 million, Armando Broja for £40 million, and Conor Gallagher for £50 million.

‘These are the kind of transactions that must be completed. By the way, they all need to be completed by June 30. That, as we know, is addressed in the Forest decision.

‘There’s a huge discussion about how difficult it is to sell players before June. The Premier League implied that it was virtually impossible.
