Newcastle manager in tears during pre match press conference today as Key player who’s suppose to be the main man for Newcastle game Sustained a career ending injury in training – another big injury setback for Eddie Howe as player set to be out till next year
Kieran Trippier will not be able to play in Newcastle United’s future games against Chelsea and Manchester City because he is hurt.
Later, Eddie Howe revealed that Trippier had hurt his calf, but he couldn’t say how bad it was or how long he might be out.
The manager said, “He felt pain in his calf. We hope it’s not too bad.”
“It was nice to see him walk down the pitch instead of limp, but we’ll see how bad that is.”
Now, according to Mail Sport, scans have shown that the 33-year-old’s injury is bad enough to keep him out until at least the end of the month. It’s not as bad as was first thought, though.
Newcastle wants to move up to seventh place in the Premier League on Monday night, but he won’t be able to go to Stamford Bridge because of this.
Worse still, Trippier won’t be able to play in the FA Cup quarterfinals next Saturday against Manchester City, who is currently the champions.
After getting hurt, he might not be able to play in England’s March matches against Belgium and Brazil.
Since Trippier is likely to be in the Three Lions team for Euro 2024, Gareth Southgate will be unable to prepare as well as he would have liked. This is especially true since fellow right backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James are also out injured.
He should be back at least for Newcastle’s game against West Ham on March 31, after the international break.
