Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been Sacked this evening after shocking draw with Crystal palace
As soon as possible, Pep Guardiola told his players, Manchester City had to get better in order to win the world title the next week.
City won the Champions League in June, which earned them a spot in this year’s Club World Cup. This tournament pits the best teams from each area against each other. Guardiola’s team will play either Fluminese of Brazil or Al-Ahly of Egypt in the championship match if they beat Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan on Tuesday. This is because neither team has ever won the title.
The goal is to win the title, but City is going there with a sad heart. Three points were lost on Saturday when Crystal Palace scored two goals in the last few minutes of the game. This could mean that Liverpool is 12 points ahead of Chelsea when they get back from Saudi Arabia.
Several hours after the Palace game, Guardiola admitted that the players could be leaving in better moods, but they can’t stay down if they want to change their mindset and make things better. The Urawa Red Diamonds are the first team.
“The seven hour flight would be better with a result but it is what it is,” Guardiola said. “We get up as fast as we can to go compete there now that we’re down.”
