VERY SAD Luke Shaw news has been announced this Morning by Manchester United Manager Erig Ten Hag after Thier win against Aston Villa yesterday
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has stated that Luke Shaw was brought off as a ‘precaution’ at halftime in the win over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
Victor Lindelof came on to warm up at halftime at Villa Park, replacing Shaw in the second half. Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire remained at centre back after a simple swap.
Shaw has already suffered thigh and muscular issues this season, and many feared the worst when he was substituted, but Ten Hag was quick to point out that his removal was purely precautionary.
When asked about the left-back in his post-match press conference, Ten Hag said: “It was a precaution, Luke Shaw, and he sent some complaints.”
“With Luke Shaw, we knew his history of injuries, and we couldn’t take the risk. It’s a vital game, but we can’t be without him for six weeks.
Shaw has started the previous four games for United, and he will be tested at Carrington this week, but Ten Hag believes he could be available against Luton Town.
United have already suffered many full-back injuries this season. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is now out due to a setback in his recuperation in preparation for a match against Villa, and Tyrell Malacia is out for the foreseeable future after undergoing two rounds of surgery on a knee injury.
Lisandro Martinez became the latest to suffer an injury, being forced off during the 3-0 victory over West Ham. The Argentine spent time on the sidelines after sustaining an ankle ailment at the start of the season; he returned around the end of 2023, but is expected to miss at least eight weeks due to a knee issue.
