Arsenal Gunners News

Trust me He is Arteta secret weapon in winning this League title if Arteta should make mistake and sell Him then they should forget about the title for the next 10yrs to come”, Former Liverpool boss Jurgen klopp says player Arsenal want to release will singlehandedly give Arteta the league title if given the chance

In a behind-closed-doors friendly, Emile Smith Rowe scored for Arsenal in their 2-0 victory over Leyton Orient, with Gabriel Jesus also finding the net. This performance comes amidst speculation regarding Smith Rowe’s potential departure from the club before the end of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal’s pre-season tour in the USA begins next weekend with a match against Bournemouth, followed by games against Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool. Smith Rowe’s involvement in these matches remains uncertain. Fulham and Crystal Palace have expressed interest in him, but Arsenal has reportedly rejected their bids, valuing Smith Rowe at £35 million.

Last season, Smith Rowe made only three league starts, as Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, and Kai Havertz were preferred in the lineup. Although he did not start the friendly against Leyton Orient, Smith Rowe made a significant impact after coming on at halftime. Wearing the captain’s armband, he capitalized on good play from Jesus, who had scored Arsenal’s first goal after combining with Eddie Nketiah, another player rumored to be leaving.

Other first-team players who participated in the match included Ben White, Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey, captain Odegaard, Fabio Vieira, and Reiss Nelson. The Arsenal squad is set to depart for California on Sunday, with Smith Rowe expected to be part of the traveling party. Manager Mikel Arteta has consistently challenged the 23-year-old to improve amid strong competition for places, although he wishes for Smith Rowe to stay at the club.

After starting Smith Rowe against Luton Town in April, Arteta praised his performance, stating: “I was really impressed with him. He has been training very well and we felt the game could suit him. I love him as a player; it is a joy to watch how he moves and changes direction. He was physical today without the ball, he wanted to make things happen. It was difficult to stop him, and he helped us a lot to win the game.”
