Their two most crucial players have been hurt again. They are at risk of losing the Derby”- Pep Guardiola delivers terrible news to Manchester City supporters before of the Manchester Derby! 😞 Good news for Manchester United fans 😄 | Football Blog
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that Jack Grealish will miss their upcoming match against Manchester United on Sunday, March 3.

The Cityzens are due to meet their cross-city rivals at the Etihad Stadium in a highly anticipated Premier League match, but they will be without Grealish. The midfielder was injured during City’s FA Cup fifth-round match against Luton Town in midweek, and was replaced in the 38th minute of their 6-2 win.

Guardiola stated in a pre-match press conference ahead of the Manchester derby that Grealish has a hamstring problem, adding (via Fabrizio Romano):

“Jack Grealish will be unable to play this weekend. He’s gone. “I am not sure when he will return.”

When asked about Grealish’s availability for England’s forthcoming games during the March international break, Guardiola responded:

“No. I need to chat with [England manager] Gareth [Southgate], as I believe he will not be fit. He needs to recuperate well. He has suffered a setback; he must heal fully so that we can employ him as much as possible.”

Grealish’s early departure from the Luton Town encounter left him clearly dissatisfied. Guardiola addressed the incident, stating:

“Yes, he does not have an alternative. Life’s setbacks are unavoidable; the key is to overcome them.

Grealish has struggled to deliver to his normal levels this season, scoring only three goals and providing two assists in 27 appearances for Manchester City across multiple tournaments.
