“STOP THE BLAME, I AM NOT THE PROBLEM”, Manchester United FLOP Casemero Caution Chelsea Fans As He Expose Those Behind The Team’s Recent Failures
Before the match against Liverpool, Manchester United fans were treated to a preview of what to expect.
Manuel Ugarte, their new £50 million acquisition from Paris Saint-Germain, was unveiled to the home supporters on the Old Trafford pitch and greeted enthusiastically. And after 45 minutes of seeing Casmerio toil and single-handedly give Liverpool two goals, United, their supporters, and manager Erik ten Hag can hardly wait for Ugrate to make his debut.
Simply put, Casemiro was a problem in the first half, giving up possession cheaply and demonstrating why United should have sold the 32-year-old in the summer. Ten Hag had had enough of Casemiro essentially handing United’s bitter enemies three points, so he pulled him off at halftime and replaced him with 20-year-old Toby Collyer.
However, Casemiro should not have been in United’s starting lineup this season, and would not have been if the pursuit of Ugarte had not lasted until transfer deadline day. That meant United missed the deadline to register Ugarte in time to face Liverpool, although since his most recent involvement was for Uruguay in the Copa America in July, he would not have been ready to play.
