SHOCKING NEWS: Coming From Fabrizio Romano, After Failing To Reach An Agreement With Napoli For The Signing Of Victor Osimhen, Chelsea Are Now Reportedly Looking To Sign Another Prolific Nigerian Striker. The Blues Are Said To Be Interested In Victor Boniface, Who Is Currently Playing For Bayer Leverkusen In The German League. The 23-Year-Old Has Scored 20 Goals In 28 Appearances For The Club, And Is Said To Be Attracting Interest From A Number Of European Clubs. Chelsea Set Sights On New ‘Nigerian Striker Target’ After Osimhen Talks Collapse – New Transfer Race On.

Chelsea is on the hunt for a striker, admitting that Nicolas Jackson’s performance hasn’t lived up to the hype and he’s yet to make the desired impact at Stamford Bridge. Consequently, the club is revisiting the transfer market, aiming to invest in a top-tier number nine. While Victor Osimhen is their primary target for the role, PSG poses stiff competition, viewing the Nigerian as Kylian Mbappe’s potential successor en route to Real Madrid.

Another option under consideration is Ivan Toney, but securing his services won’t be easy, with Arsenal and Manchester United also eyeing the Brentford striker. Chelsea might need to widen their search for potential recruits, with Victor Boniface emerging as a candidate, as reported by BILD and confirmed by Christian Falk, the outlet’s chief transfer expert.

Falk told CaughtOffside, “Nicolas Jackson hasn’t solved Chelsea’s striker problem. Another player who could potentially step in is Victor Boniface, who joined from Saint-Gilloise in 2023 for €16 million… His contract runs until 2028 and he’s currently valued at €40 million. Chelsea are interested, but Bayer Leverkusen is hesitant to sell.”

Osimhen’s fellow Nigerian showcased impressive form, netting 16 goals and providing eight assists in 23 appearances before sustaining an adductor injury that will keep him out for several months. At 23, he’s seen as one of Europe’s most promising forwards, although concerns persist about his injury record, having already endured two ACL injuries in his relatively young career.
