ROBBERY OF THE YEAR. Clear Penalty For Manchester United after Crazy Thomas Partey Tackle, and the Referee Says No! 😱😱
Manchester United winger Amad was denied a penalty against Arsenal because he made the first touch with Thomas Partey.
United looked promising against the Gunners, but fell down after 20 minutes when Leandro Trossard easily converted Kai Havertz’s cross in front of the Stretford End. In an attempt to come back on equal terms, the 21-year-old cut in from the right side before collapsing.
On first glance, it looked like Partey’s challenge occurred within the penalty area, but a review revealed that it was maybe much closer. Referee Paul Tierney chose not to give a penalty kick, and VAR supported his judgment.
Gary Neville, on the other hand, contended that the decision was more ambiguous. “The only question is that Partey was on the floor,” he stated.
“He simply sticks his right leg out. Just look at Parety’s right leg there. Mmm. Simply watch it there. Oooh. Does he get the ball? Not sure. Probably plenty in there.”
But Dean remained resolute, saying, “I don’t think there is enough in it. Amad has really stood on his foot, and I know it’s out there.
“I don’t think this is a penalty kick. The proper judgment by Paul, supported by the VAR, John Brooks.”
