Premier League manager has been sacked this evening and replaced with former Chelsea Boss Thomas Tuchel!
According to reports, Manchester United have called Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel to discuss prospective replacements for Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag, a Dutchman, is still struggling after a turbulent season with the Red Devils, and speculation about his future abounds. He is now tied to United until 2025, although a number of coaches are expected to take over in the summer.
According to Kicker’s Georg Holzner, United has already contacted Tuchel and might provide the former Chelsea coach a way out of the Bundesliga. The German will depart Bayern at the conclusion of the season, having joined the club in March 2023.
According to reports, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United’s part owner, is interested in bringing Tuchel to the club as he seeks to rebuild his squad for the 2024/25 season. The 50-year-old has won two Ligue 1 crowns, the Bundesliga, and a Champions League trophy, and he just advanced to this year’s UCL semi-finals with Bayern after overcoming Arsenal.
Tuchel’s team did, however, lose the Bundesliga championship to Bayer Leverkusen, who won the title a month before the season’s final gameweek.
Ten Hag faced further criticism as his side narrowly defeated Coventry City to go to the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, but he lauded his team’s commitment for ultimately getting over the line.
United led 3-0 before the hour mark in Sunday’s semi-final, but the Championship side forced extra time and won only on penalties. The FA Cup is Manchester United’s final opportunity to win silverware this season, but they must defeat defending champions Manchester City to do so.
