“Pochettino is in an interesting place because they lost the League Cup [final], now they’re in the semi-finals of the FA Cup,’-Ian Wright explains the only way Mauricio Pochettino can save his job at Chelsea
Bacary Sagna, a former Arsenal and Manchester City defender, believes Chelsea’s Malo Gusto has the potential to be the Premier League’s top right back.
Chelsea signed Gusto for £26.3 million from Lyon just over a year ago, and the 20-year-old has received more playing time than expected this season because to Reece James’ injury.
Gusto has been one of Chelsea’s standout players in recent weeks, and Sagna feels the French defender has the potential to be the finest in his position in the Premier League.
‘Malo Gusto and Reece James will have to compete for the right back position, which is fantastic for Chelsea,’ Sagna told Paddy Power.
‘Gusto is dynamic, quick, and skilled at one-on-ones. He was performing well at Lyon, and I’m not shocked to see him shine at Chelsea since he possesses all of the necessary skills to be an important player.
‘Chelsea is currently rebuilding, and Gusto has performed admirably, but he has the potential to do much better in future seasons.
‘He has the potential to be the top right-back in the Premier League if he continues to play this manner for the entire season.’

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino stated last week that Gusto is swiftly developing as a crucial player for his team.
‘The idea for Malo Gusto was that of a 19-year-old player who had moved from another league, France, and there were conditions where a young lad needed time,’ Pochettino explained.
‘But it is true that he played earlier than expected due to injury. He needed to perform from the start while adjusting to the Premier League, the club, and life in a different country.
‘Malo has experienced various injuries, which is why we have occasionally used Alfie Gilchrist or Axel Disasi in that position. But it’s no surprise that the young men who have arrived require time.
‘He was injured, then he played, and then he was hurt, but now, after eight or nine months, we’re starting to see what we expected of him.
‘I’m hoping he can now be consistent, play on a regular basis, and start to demonstrate his quality.
‘He is a player who excels in both forward and aggressive play.
‘Like the cross against Brentford, the forward quality is excellent. He needs to develop in other areas, and he will undoubtedly do so with time. I am really pleased with how he acts and performs.
