Fans were perplexed after RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko had a goal controversially ruled off against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Sesko scored with a header, but the goal was disallowed due to the forward’s small shove on custodian Andriy Lunin.

Sesko, who was standing behind Lunin, was initially ruled offside, but the 20-year-old was later heavily penalised for catching the custodian.

The teams were tied at 0-0 in the first leg of the round of 16 match when Sesko thought he had put Leipzig ahead.

Further anguish awaited Lepizig, as Real Madrid took the lead in the second half through Brahim Diaz.
