Pep Guardiola has finally makes defiant promise to Manchester City and is set to leave the Club this season and his replacement has been named

Michael Owen said that the person who takes over for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City might be a character that they have played against in the Premier League.

Since coming to Manchester City from a similarly successful time at Bayern Munich, the Catalan coach has led the team to its best period ever. This includes the most important single season in the history of any English club.

City won five trophies in the English, European, and world game during the 2022–23 season and the whole 2023 calendar year. This included their third straight Premier League title and their first UEFA Champions League title.

There are, however, those who wonder what else Pep Guardiola and his team can do and whether the latest round of historic wins could be the start of the end for the Catalan legend, whose current Etihad deal ends at the end of the 2024–25 season.

According to a name in the game, Roberto De Zerbi, a manager that Pep Guardiola himself holds in high regard, could become the next manager at the Etihad Stadium.

In an interview with the Premier League this week, Michael Owen said that he thought Manchester City might be interested in Brighton & Hove Albion’s coach when Pep Guardiola leaves the Etihad Stadium.

Owen said, “If a big club loses their manager, like Pep Guardiola, I’m sure that people will be looking at him as their next manager.”

“Brighton doesn’t miss much when it comes to signings or managers; in fact, their last two managers have been great.”

“So I just think that they do a lot of work when it comes to hiring, and you know what? They’ll have the next man in place too.”

Pep Guardiola has played against Roberto De Zerbi three times as a manager. He has beaten the Italian manager twice and tied him once. The most recent match between the two was in the Premier League and was played at the Etihad Stadium.
