No argument against’ expulsion and ‘stripping PL titles’ with guilty verdict in Juventus repeat’-Game over for Manchester City As Facing BAN alert from PGMOL after breaking Financial Fair Play(FFP) charges which is threatening the future of the Premier League Giants!
Like Sparky’s extremely fair idea and discussion of the potential consequences of various measures if City is found guilty of what they are clearly guilty of.
However, one thing is lacking from everyone of them. Meaningful punishment. And consistency, for others who were penalized for considerably less serious rule violations.
First, while I agree that gifting teams championships is ineffective since it does not seem earned, the moment of delight has passed. There is no enjoyment in it. However, in the case of wrongdoing, City does not deserve to have the titles against their name. It is better that they are asterisked and deleted than retained illegally.
Second, as previously said, financial penalty is useless to the club unless it is directed at the clubs that are most affected. But figuring it out would be a Post Office saga.
Third, relegation to the Championship does not function. As previously said, it punishes the hardworking clubs there. So, what are the options? Send them to the bottom of the league pyramid. If they broke the rules for several years, this is what should happen. It occurred to both Rangers and Juventus. Why not go to City?
