“My dream is to play in the Premier League and if my contracts expire this Summer at Bayern Munich, I will be joining Manchester City I will like to play alongside Kelvin De Bruyne
The teams keeping an eye on Alphonso Davies’s contract issue at Bayern Munich include Chelsea and Manchester City.
The present contract for the Canadian left-back is set to expire in the summer of 2025, and negotiations to extend it have not yet resulted in a mutually agreeable agreement.
Raphael Guerreiro replaced Davies in Thomas Tuchel’s starting lineup recently, raising concerns that the drama is now impacting Davies’ on-field results. However, Nedal Huoseh, the 23-year-old’s agent, has since stated that his client is totally focused on Bayern, who intend to hold additional negotiations to settle the matter in the upcoming weeks.
It is believed that their most recent contract proposal is valued at approximately £8.5 million annually. According to German sources, Davies has been searching for up to £11 million, so it’s very possible that more negotiations will be needed before a deal is completed.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, is also involved as they plan a summer transfer raid, with Davies and Kylian Mbappe being their primary targets.
Ferland Mendy, who might be traded at the end of the current campaign, is considered to see Davies as an improvement over him by Los Blancos. However, if Bayern fail to finalise a new contract for Davies before the end of the season, Chelsea and City may also be considered.
If that’s the case, the Bavarian giants will have to take permanent offers into consideration for the quick sensation, who is set to begin the last 12 months of his contract on July 1.
In order to compete with Ben Chilwell, Chelsea is looking to add a new left-back in the summer. Levi Colwill is anticipated to replace Thiago Silva at the centre of defence, but it’s unlikely that they will pursue Davies if he is requesting a high salary at Bayern.
Davies, Alphonso

After his loan at Borussia Dortmund, Ian Maatsen’s future will be reviewed, and Marc Cucurella might be sold. Bayern believed they had reached a general understanding with Davies over a contract renewal in the spring of last year, but the matter eventually turned complicated and was set aside.
When asked about Davies being benched earlier this week, Tuchel responded, “‘Phonzy’ is a very nice and sensitive guy.” Being self-critical, I believe that the circumstances are impeding rather than empowering him.

“Overall, he has been rather unconfident for a lengthier amount of time. Naturally, though, it’s critical that he uses his pace to mould our game.
We’re trying to make sure he keeps gaining confidence and doesn’t hesitate to take chances. He’s critical in the ball-defense. We’re resolving all the problems and will keep our faith in him as we know he’s a decent man.”
