Marcus Rashford has to be in the bench against Chelsea or else their Top 4 hope will be totally lost- he is a FLOP that Erig Ten Hag can’t drop
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has stated that there is’something awry’ with Marcus Rashford, and he may require the assistance of his management to break out of his current slump.
The attacker has eight goals in 36 appearances in all competitions this season, seven of which have come in the Premier League. Despite scoring in three of his last four games, Rashford has faced criticism for his performances.
Most recently, analyst Jamie Redknapp discussed an apparent lack of effort in the weekend’s Premier League match with Brentford.
Rashford also played only 15 minutes in one of England’s two friendly games during the previous international break, casting doubt on his inclusion in the squad for this summer’s European Championship.
Keane has already expressed his thoughts on the forward’s form and performances. He’s asked people closest to the player, especially manager Erik ten Hag, to show him some tough love.
“There’s no doubt about his [Marcus Rashford’s] skill; he’s amazing – but there’s something wrong with him,” Keane told the Stick to Football podcast, via SkyBet.
“We’ve had these meetings every few months; a player may have an off-spell or a downturn, but he’s not enjoying his football. “I wouldn’t say I’m concerned about him, but when you look at him, something seems off.
The people around him, whether they are family or his management, are constantly on his case. “Who is giving him an old-fashioned kick in the a** and saying, ‘Come on, we need more from you.'”
If you want to be a leader and are on major contracts, you must accept that responsibility. “I don’t think that’s happening, and I don’t think anyone is working on his case. That is not to suggest he can’t continue to perform and run a little more.
“He’s been at the club since he was a kid.” Rashford may have the opportunity to take the first step toward turning around his season when United return to action tonight (Thursday). The Reds face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as they continue their quest to play European football next season.
